Introduction to the Warm Dominant Color HomeThis color palette is probably my favorite, though I love the Deep palette, too. I can wear colors from both of them and will probably become more Deep as I continue to age. Did you know that women become cooler in coloring as their hair greys? In my most recent color analysis training, my mentor & teacher, Shari Braendel told us that Warm Dominants are very resistant to giving up their warm colors. But the truth is that as we age, we begin to lose some of our coloring, and once we have gone completely grey, most of us who were Warm will not be Warm anymore. Although I know this is true, when she mentioned that, I told her that I was exactly like the people she described! I said I was planning to die in my warm colors! But I have already begun to notice that the orange in my eyes is not as vivid, and the warmth in my hair is being replaced by the spread of the dreaded grey. Even my skin is less golden than it used to be. Sad but true. And wearing grey hair with my favorite pumpkin oranges would be like wearing a coat with a tank top, shorts and flip flops. Have you noticed your coloring changing over the years? Let me know in a comment. But having a good color analyst can help because she can help you begin to transition your wardrobe. Or, if you color your hair, she can re-do your personalized palette so it supports your true coloring and whatever new coloring has been added. ;) And some women have coloring that reaches into more than one color palette or type. Though I will tell you which is your primary color home, since I create a personalized palette, too, I'll tell you any colors that suit you from the other palettes, as well. How to Know if You are Warm DominantIf everything about your coloring is warm and golden, then you are Warm Dominant. But if you are not sure that’s true, then try a few warm colors, like pumpkin orange or tomato red. If they are right, it will seem almost like they emanated from you. If it’s wrong, it will likely seem very wrong. Warms need medium contrast. So if you're a Warm, don’t wear your lightest colors with your darkest ones. Wear both with colors at about the middle of the range. The picture below is a woman with warm coloring, along with outfit formula and makeup recommendations.
