Introduction to the Light Dominant Color HomeI love the beautiful, delicious colors that women in the Light color home can wear! They sometimes remind me of ice cream. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I love to suggest outfit formulas for each color home, and in addition to personalized outfit formulas, I give each woman an eBook with 25 or more outfit formula ideas, plus makeup suggestions, for her type. And the ones for the Light color type are just lovely. How to Know if You're Light DominantAlways start by looking at your own coloring. If everything about your coloring is Light, then your best colors are, too. When Light is the most important thing, then the darkest and brightest colors will overwhelm you. So if you suspect that you are Light Dominant, try those colors to see what happens. Then, try lighter ones and take note of the difference. Here is an example of a woman of color whose color home is Light, along with an outfit formula and makeup look that would be ideal for her. So what did you think of the Light Dominant color home? Take the free color analysis quiz for black women, to find out if this is your type. See you tomorrow! Love, Jeanine

I apologize for my comment yesterday and today- I took home color as more of a physical coloring of rooms and house colors.....it's the home of the person not the actual house or home! I do look good in reds, although my favorite color is Blue- but I do like BRIGHT colors......taking a BOLD step in using color?!?!?

No problem, Pamela! Your comment yesterday reminded me of a peach-colored carpet I once chose - I loved it! Well, I think it's great that you make bold color choices. And here's the thing, if you love doing that, you can do it within any color home. They all have colors that will be bright on that person. I would agree that Light colors would probably not support your coloring. But occasionally I am surprised. For example, I did a color analysis on two people who are related and look similar, and was surprised that there results were different. But that is what makes it fun!! :)

Ruby Chocolate, huh. Browns are among my favorite colors. After black!

Oh, I love browns!! In fact, I tended to over wear them, because I find them so comforting. But I realized that vibrant color suits me better, and decided to keep them, but not wear them nearly as often as I used to do. And so many people love the color black. Many of us need to wear it in small doses, though, or as an accent color. I suspect that that might be true for you, Roy, though, of course, I can't be sure.

Your approach is so uplifting, my friend. The light color home seems so welcoming, almost breezy in feel. Does that make sense? I look forward to seeing what comes next!

Oh, thank you, Julie! I think you're right. You can feel the lightness. I love those colors. They don't love me back, but that's okay. I can enjoy them on others. :)

Very interesting and good graphics to support your thoughts. I can see why your model was assigned to the light home. Love the southern charm lipstick and I bet it would be very pretty on her.

Thanks, Cindy! Oh, I'm so glad you can see it. I felt the same way about that lipstick - I could almost see it on her.

This is an interesting topic Jeanine. I still don't know what color home I am but I tend to work dark bottoms with both dark and light tops. I just got a very, very light pink and white striped top to wear with mint capris. For me this is stepping outside my box. lol

I think that is so neat, Martha, that you are stepping out of the box with color!! I have so much fun playing with color, myself. And trying things out is a good way to find out what works and what doesn't.
