Makeup Looks and Outfit Formula Ideas for Each Color Analysis Type

As we wind down our makeover month, here at the Life in Color blog, we'll use today's post to combine all three of our makeover topics: color analysis, beauty and style...

Makeup Looks & Outfit Formula Ideas for Each Color Type

We've talked about color analysis for women of color, introduced each color type: deep, light, warm, cool, clear and soft, looked ahead to creating a fall capsule wardrobe using the Pantone fall & winter color palette for 2020, and explored makeup tips both for women of color and women over 40.

In this post, let's look at makeup recommendations and looks, and outfit formula and color combination ideas for each of the six color homes.

Watch these videos. Don't let the number of them scare you.

Each one is about 10 seconds long, so your time commitment is a minute or less.

Take note of which  colors you know you can wear, or color combinations you like but haven't yet tried. You may even get more of a sense of which color home might be yours.

Questions to Consider...

(1) Which type seemed to hold the colors you know serve you best?

(2) Which color combinations appealed to you most?

(3) Do you know what that combination would look like in your own color palette?

(4) Which makeup looks would you like to try?

(5) Would any of the makeup looks go with clothes or colors you already own?

See you tomorrow!

Love, Jeanine

I love how your videos pulled it all together and your questions help further the process. Wow. Fantastic!

I was surprised that the cool color home and the deep color home both resonated with me. So interesting!

Oh, thank you, Julie!! Oh, that's interesting. Hmm. That might mean that if you turn out to be Deep dominant, you'll do better with cooler deep colors & if you are Cool dominant, you'll do better with deeper cool colors.

Great videos to help people learn what they might be. From the charts, I tend to be cool. I like that, I'm COOL! LOL

Thanks!! Well, Martha, there was never any doubt about that! I have known you were cool from way back. :) And I can imagine Cool being a fit for you, so that's good that it feels right to you, too. You may have always known instinctively what works best.

I liked the cool colour options .I think a color analysis could help me decide better .It does confuse me sometimes.

Oh, good! Well, I can see why it would be confusing sometimes. And what I like about tonal color analysis is that once you know your type, you know how to find other colors that will work, as long as they fit that description (for example, cool, light, etc.)

    Hi, I'm Jeanine Byers :)

I'm an author,  Christian image consultant, proud former homeschool boy mom of a college student, Hallmark movie fan and big cuppa tea drinker.

I believe that creating your signature style is a spiritual calling. It's about seeing yourself as God does and delighting in your own beauty and style.

I'm specializing in color analysis and signature style for black women.

As women of color, we often aren't analyzed correctly when we receive color analysis. And all of our lives, we have been given sometimes subtle, and sometimes more overt societal messages about not meeting the cultural standards of beauty.

My mission is to help you discover, embrace and celebrate your own beauty and style.

Thanks for dropping by! I'll see you soon.

    Love, Jeanine
