If you have ever been color analyzed in the past, you were probably given a color palette that had anywhere from 30-70 colors in it. And as you began to experiment with those colors, you may have found that some were better than others.
For example, in any given color palette, there might be some colors that you either aren't fond of or when you put them on, you can tell immediately that they aren't going to be your best.
But you also may find colors that surprise you with just how good they look on you. Those often become the ones that your friends and family compliment you on the most.
They may become the ones you find yourself choosing over and over again. And I'd suggest that you keep those colors in mind when you are about to go shopping, especially for investment pieces, or accessories.
But what does that have to do with personalized color palettes? Read on, and I'll explain...
Personalized Color Palettes
In the examples above, I suggested that in your color palette, you might find colors that surprise you because they look that good on you. Well, when you identify those colors, and then, find that you wear and choose those colors more than you wear the other ones, you are personalizing your color palette.
A personalized color palette is a set of colors that contains the best of the best colors for you. They are top-notch, cream of the crop, don't buy any clothes without them colors, because they are such ideal matches for your coloring.
Once you know what they are, you can build a capsule wardrobe around them. Or use them as accent colors for the core wardrobe you already have.
And when you are planning to buy something for a special occasion, you can be on the lookout for it in one of those colors, so you can feel confident that you will look beautiful in the outfit you choose.
How to Identify or Create a Personalized Color Palette
Eventually, experience will give you some clues about which colors will look better on you than others. And if you are starting with a color palette already, then you will be ahead of the game, because you know the palette you want is a subset of the colors in your larger palette.
I would suggest taking that palette to the store with you, so you can try the colors on. Choose tops, or dresses, so the colors will be right under your face.
If you don't end up buying the clothes you tried on, take pictures of yourself in them, so that you will have a visual record of the colors that looked best.
Now, there is an easier and faster way to create a personalized palette...
