Spring 10x10 Challenge: Here's What I Chose

Picture

As I mentioned a few days ago, I decided to do a 10x10 capsule wardrobe challenge for spring. It will last all month long, and my goal is to use 10 pieces to create at least ten outfits.

Though I created quite a bit more than ten outfit formula ideas, the challenge will give me a chance to try them out.

Hopefully, at the end of this month, I'll end up with ten outfits I love, that work well for me.

My intention is to keep those ten items as my spring capsule wardrobe. In addition to those ten items, I have some accessories and a few pieces of outerwear for cooler spring days.

Though my spring capsule includes the accessories and outerwear, and I will probably be wearing them, they are free items when it comes to this challenge. That means they don't count as part of the ten items.

Here are those items I chose...

My 10x10 Challenge Capsule & Spring Capsule Wardrobe

2 striped tops: olive, terracotta

First Outfit from the 10x10 Mini Capsule

Though I have worn two of the outfit formulas I planned, I only have one picture to show you. More next week, I'm sure.

I have two cardigans and a denim jacket in the closet for cooler days, just in case, and sure enough, it was surprisingly cool one morning last week.

So that day, I wore the light olive top and olive leggings at home, with my cozy slippers. But when I had to dash out to fill a prescription, I added socks and the cardigan.

If you're doing the 10x10 challenge, too, how is it going so far? If not, what do you think is the first outfit you'd wear, if you were?

Have a great weekend!

Love, Jeanine

I think today I may attempt to take my very small wardrobe if you can call it that and make my 10X10. You are too cute in the one outfit you have on......can I virtually pinch your cheeks to tell you how cute that you are!?!?!? i will give this a try because I do feel I may need to switch things up as far as what i am wearing rather than the same thing every day or every other day in my case.....no seriously I end up wearing two pairs of pants and two to three different sweatshirts continously....I know I have a few other things in my stuff to be changed out but maybe your challenge will help me change things up a bit!!

What a great idea. I've got a few pieces of clothing that I love and wear quite a bit. A few days ago I bought some leggings from a mom owned business and they are so soft. I'm pretty sure they'll be among my 10X10 outfits.

In the Pacific NW - I'd have to wear the cardigan most days because our weather is still pretty cold. Next week it is supposed to be the 50's and 60's but we usually have rain.

From what you've said, I would definitely include those leggings. And yes, you would need to make cardigans part of your ten. I envy you that you have a slower transition to spring.

I hadn't heard of this challenge but once we finish going through the house room by room and gutting and getting rid of everything we don't use. I will do not only my closet but my sons and get us each 10 outfits so we can get rid of all the clothes we don't wear.

That sounds wonderful, Glenda! I bet once it's all done, you'll feel much better.

Think you made some lovely choices. Few pieces of jewelry enhances the capsule, too.

Thanks!! I usually only wear earrings, but you're right - jewelry can be a great accessory.

You're welcome! And I know what you mean - I did that for a while this past summer. It was so hot, I almost didn't care what I wore, as long as it was cool.

What a cool way to change an outfit by adding a cartigan. I love the color combinations.
