The Ultimate Blog Challenge: July Edition

Hey, there! If you haven't met me yet, I am Jeanine, and it's nice to meet you!
Picture

I am a certified color analyst (in 3 systems), a capsule wardrobe consultant & a makeup and style blogger.

And until last month, I was a homeschool mom. My son just competed high school and is college bound.

I'm also a Hallmark movie fan (this month is Christmas in July on all of the Hallmark channels, so Merry Christmas!) and a big cuppa tea drinker.

Signature Style & Color Analysis

I believe that discovering your perfect colors, creating your signature style, finding makeup that supports you - all of it - is a spiritual calling.

Why? Because it's about your willingness to be visible as you. To live life in color & to shine your light, showing up more fully as your truest self.

And color analysis, or knowing your true color home, will empower you to answer the call. This month, I will be helping you do that, with color analysis, makeup and style.

Rachel Zoe said that our style helps us tell people who we are without saying anything. And I agree.

But we won’t be telling them the truth if we are wearing the wrong colors.

30-Day Blog Challenge

I'll also be participating in a month-long blog challenge.

Hello, beloved UBCers! Welcome back!! So this month, I will post each weekday, but I'll be taking weekends off.

Stick with me, and you'll get more beautiful! :)

See you tomorrow!

Love, Jeanine

Excited to follow along this month! I am guilty of hiding in shadows that hide who I am. I can't wait to see where I'm at in 30 days of following along with you. We are Hallmark sisters -- I love them! What kind of tea do you enjoy?

Hi Shelly! I'm familiar with this hiding thing you speak of, LOL. Ooh, yes, Hallmark! Just watched a neat movie last night. I love the teas that make you feel like you're eating dessert - flavored black teas like cinnamon chai, apple and cinnamon, gingerbread, vanilla. And my latest thing is adding caramel and vanilla syrup to them, along with my splash of milk. Yum! :)

Wardrobe consultant! How cool. I guess I'd REALLY better connect and read your blog! My wardrobe consists of jeans, cut-off, tank tops & flannel or denim shirts! Yup, life in the woods :-) When it's time to get dressed up & actually go somewhere, I look in my closet and have nothing to wear LOL
Look forward to reading your posts.

Hi, Nancy! I know what you mean. I am very casual, too! I love a v-neck tee shirt and a pair of leggings. But I have been trying to find ways to upgrade my casual, like wearing vibrant color combinations, adding scarves, mixing patterns and prints, and adding a dress or three. ;)

I know my favorite colors- and those are the ones I choose for my clothes.

Hi, Roy! I think it's great that you do that, because men often don't wear very much color at all. Where color analysis might help would be if you regularly do presentations or have meetings, or other occasions, where you want to look your very best. Because then, you'd know which colors to choose from each time.

I like the print size you chose for the blog posts. Makes it easy for my older eyes. Best of luck with the blog challenge.

Thanks, Virginia! I chose it for exactly that reason - for all of us who get eye strain with small print.

I know I am looking forward to Hallmark movies (we recently got the hulu subscription along with Disney plus - Hamilton!!! ) and I recently noticed the Hallmark channel there..

Oh, that's awesome! I don't think my Hulu has Hallmark - I have to get it through cable. Let me know what you think. I have been in heaven watching the Christmas ones the last few days.

Hey Jeanine! Good to see you. I love the look of your blog. You can really rock that red top. I also need help finding my colors. Sometimes I find something that works, and other times I disappear in what I wear. Since we're spending so much time on video calls these days, it's even more important to wear something that puts us in our best light and doesn't detract. Looking forward to more from you as we move through July.

Oh, I hate that, when something washes me out that works in every other way. And you're so right - with this time in all our lives rapidly becoming an age of video, how we look and what we wear are becoming even more important, even while we're at home.

    Hi, I'm Jeanine Byers :)

I'm an author,  Christian image consultant, proud former homeschool boy mom of a college student, Hallmark movie fan and big cuppa tea drinker.

I believe that creating your signature style is a spiritual calling. It's about seeing yourself as God does and delighting in your own beauty and style.

I'm specializing in color analysis and signature style for black women.

As women of color, we often aren't analyzed correctly when we receive color analysis. And all of our lives, we have been given sometimes subtle, and sometimes more overt societal messages about not meeting the cultural standards of beauty.

My mission is to help you discover, embrace and celebrate your own beauty and style.

Thanks for dropping by! I'll see you soon.

    Love, Jeanine
