The Ultimate Blog Challenge: Capsule Wardrobe Edition

Picture

Hello, UBCers! :)

So good to see you guys again. I have missed several blog challenges and have really missed seeing you all. So I decided that no matter what, I was going to do this April challenge.

You see, life keeps happening and it really interferes with my blogging. That is an understatement in the extreme.

But I decided to at least try to write a few blog posts for each week, to stay connected. And it worked.

I was able to write more posts than I thought I would, and I now have enough posts in the hopper that I should be able to participate along with you guys.

This time around, I am blogging about style. I have always found it endlessly fascinating, and it has been one of my favorite hobbies or passions. It is monetized, because I am an affiliate for a capsule wardrobe program for moms.

And if you're interested in building a capsule wardrobe or finding your best outfit formulas, you can download a free printable capsule wardrobe planner by clicking that link.

But also stay tuned this month for more fun with style.

Just for fun, I decided to try the 10x10 capsule wardrobe challenge this month.

I have created a ten-piece capsule wardrobe (with 2 pieces of outerwear, just in case the weather changes its mind). And I will create at least ten outfits using only those pieces I have chosen.

My plan is to share the experience as I go along this month, probably on the weekends.

If you're going to be posting all month long, too, tell me what your focus will be. I'm looking forward to reading your posts!

See you tomorrow!

Love, Jeanine

Hi Jeanine,

Enjoyed your blog...I'm new to the blogging world. I did manage to make the January one after being invited mid month. I'm excited about the April one! For my April/UBC Challenge I'll be writing about one of my passions - Genealogy.

Nancy

Hi, Nancy! Thanks!! We hit a wall with our own genealogy quest, but I still find it fascinating. I'll be looking forward to your posts.

I never thought I'd be satisfied relying predominately on a capsule wardrobe. Then I reevaluated what I wear mostly and took a peek in my closet. Yep, think I could qualify as a capsule wardrober...with a few more tweaks and purges.

Enjoyed your post!

Thanks, Kat!! I didn't think I could do it at first, either, but now, I love it every time.

I went to you other post and still have no idea what a capsule wardrobe is. I'm too big to rely on what fits in a capsule! :-)

If you ate the cookie that Alice did, you might fit into that capsule!

Oh, no! So sorry about that, Roy. A capsule wardrobe is a small collection of clothes that all mix and match and are chosen specifically for that purpose. Ideally, it makes deciding what to wear much easier, and eliminates the anxiety about how any particular outfit will look or work for you.

I'm all excited about a capsule wardrobe! Sounds like more fun than a capsule hotel (I'm very claustrophobic). Oh, and my blogging theme this month is "Life in these strange times." Basically, it I am documenting my life during this shut down, which I must say is very challenging for me, as I am such an extrovert!

Yay! I get excited about them, too. And I am eager to read your posts. It helps me to still feel connected when I hear about how others are doing & share the same myself. Such a weird time as you've said.

    Hi, I'm Jeanine Byers :)

I'm an author,  Christian image consultant, proud former homeschool boy mom of a college student, Hallmark movie fan and big cuppa tea drinker.

I believe that creating your signature style is a spiritual calling. It's about seeing yourself as God does and delighting in your own beauty and style.

I'm specializing in color analysis and signature style for black women.

As women of color, we often aren't analyzed correctly when we receive color analysis. And all of our lives, we have been given sometimes subtle, and sometimes more overt societal messages about not meeting the cultural standards of beauty.

My mission is to help you discover, embrace and celebrate your own beauty and style.

Thanks for dropping by! I'll see you soon.

    Love, Jeanine
