I found this list and printable on AVirtuousWoman.com. If you are subscribed to her list, you get a reminder for this, I think, on the first day of each month. Great idea, right?
Top 3 Priorities
(1) Meal planning for the month, including the Thanksgiving meals. get any new recipes I want to try before the next time we go grocery shopping.
(2) Keep Internet time to a minimum, and focus on homemaking (keeping the apartment clean, particularly) and my time with God, instead.
(3) Vote and pray about the election.
I'm hoping to get the living room finished. We still need ...
- a dining room set
- a slipcover for the couch
- a pouf for setting things on (including feet, LOL)
- a dresser to store our linen, but also go next to the chair
Another goal is to stay on track with Weight Watchers. I'd like to lose 5 pounds or more this month.
What are Your Goals for November?
That tending list is a free printable if you would like to write them down.
See you next time!
Tonight, both of the Hallmark channels, and the Lifetime channel are beginning their holiday movies. And I have to say that this day in October, because they always start in October, is almost my favorite day of the year.
I might even like it better than Christmas, because once Christmas gets here, the season is over. But on this day in October, it's just beginning.
So what could go wrong? Well, I don't have the Internet yet. I have been using a hotspot, but I won't be able to watch all the Christmas movies with it. Uh oh!
Looking for a Miracle - Expecting the Impossible
That headline is from a gospel song. And I have been praying for a miracle that would bring me my movies by tonight.
But so far, the road seems clear. Nothing I can see that is on the way.
And I use a healing technique, that I learned many years ago, from a wonderful, devout Christian man who was given the technique as an answer to prayer for his wife, who was depressed at the time. When he taught us this technique, he said that when we used it, one of two things would happen.
Either the problem would heal and go away, or we wouldn't care about it anymore. Well, I've been doing that technique every hour for days now.
But the problem has not gone away. And I'm still like, "God, ... tick tock!"
You Just Have to Wait
So I have been complaining. And have asked a couple of people why it takes things so long to manifest.
In my head, I heard, "why don't you ask God that question?" And my answer was that I have, but that the answer didn't seem very clear.
So this morning, I'm working on this blog, and creating the header graphic above, and it dawns on me that this song has been playing on repeat, in the background, on the radio in my mind...
"You can't hurry love. No, you just have to wait. Love don't come easy. It's a game of give and take. How long must I wait? How much more can I take? Just trust, give it time. No matter how long it takes..."
That God is a sneaky mcsneakerton!
God be like, "You gonna tell Me, I can't get a clear message to you? I don't think so!" ;)
That picture is SO inspiring!! It is similar to what I have in mind for my living room and bathroom, color-wise. but it makes me want to add even more of that luscious, soft grey.
And maybe add some ivory and cream, which are lighter colors than the beige slipcover I have now and the beige color on the walls. Maybe adding the lighter and softer creams will soften the look.
And I love that orangey brown! Another color I have in mind for my own space. This article confirms I am right on the money.
Fingers crossed, I can bring my own vision to life!
Create mood boards from interior design magazines, fabric swatches and samples, and save interiors inspo digitally on Pinterest and Instagram. 'Buy an A2 sheet of white board for each room you want to design. On this, print off any ideas you have found online, any fabrics, furniture or finishes you want to use and then stand back and see if it all works together. This is exactly what we do in the studio to ensure the scheme works,' advises Jon Piling, at Abode, in the House Beautiful article..
This blog is a kind of “about me” blog if you happen to be reading it. But it’s also a for me blog, a place to talk about, share and discuss the topics that aren’t style-related.
In a way, it’s my personal journal, but a little less personal than the diaries I used to lock after writing an entry. ;)
Feel free to comment, and share your own thoughts.
Thanks for taking a look!
